Practice Plan Bukumbi Trip - February 2008
In February 2008, we took a small group of staff to Mwanza, Tanzania, to meet the Bridge2Aid team. We wanted to personally see and experience the programmes that Bridge2Aid have put in place and were incredibly inspired by their story.

Sunday 3rd February 2008
We witnessed a wonderful sunrise on the east side of the plane as we entered Tanzanian airspace. As we neared Dar es Salaam, we caught a beautiful glimpse of a snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro.
After 9.5 hours, we finally arrived in Dar es Salaam. We still needed to take a short flight to Mwanza, our final destination.
Arrival at Mwanza airport, what a culture shock!!! The baggage reclaim was quite literally a hole in the wall and it was a fight to get your bags. All you can say is that Gemma may be small but she got stuck in and got all the baggage, with a little help from Steve.
It was great to see Mark and Ian from Bridge2Aid, who both met us at the airport. After a 15 minute drive, we arrived at our hotel and we had reached “base camp”. We all went to bed wondering what the next few days would hold ………
