Watch this informative on-demand webinar with Nigel Jones, Sarah Buxton and Neil Richardson as they unpick some of the key Labour government announcements of the last 5 months and assess their impact on NHS dentistry.

About the webinar:

The expert panel discussed the October budget and the impact it’s likely to have on NHS dental practices, including the increases to employers’ National Insurance contributions and minimum wage levels. They also considered the changes to business asset disposal relief, capital gains tax and inheritance tax and how they affect dentists’ retirement and pension plans.

With long term fundamental workforce issues already plaguing NHS dentistry, Nigel, Sarah and Neil also discussed proposed legal changes that are likely to further impact the NHS dental workforce. This included The Employment Rights Bill that is set to be ‘the biggest overhaul to employment law in a generation’ and includes changes such as day one rights for employees, statutory sick pay payable from the first day of sickness, and the reassessment of the ‘self-employed’ and ‘worker’ distinction. They discussed changes to flexible working and family rights and how that could impact NHS dental practices.
