Are you coming to the British Dental Conference and Dentistry Show (BDCDS) at the NEC Birmingham on Friday 15 and Saturday 16 May 2026? Then Practice Plan’s Dental Business Theatre should be an essential part of your visit.
Here at Practice Plan, everything starts with understanding dental practices; how they work, the pressures they face and what helps them grow and develop. In that respect, our Dental Business Theatre is an extension of what we do every day: helping practices make well‑informed decisions, build confidence and create sustainable businesses that work for them.
What’s on the agenda? Practical business support
There are so many aspects to running a dental practice that owners can feel like they’re spinning plates sometimes. At the Dental Business Theatre this year, our focus is on bringing together people who are experts in their fields to help provide you with clear, practical insights so you can keep those plates stable. By giving you the knowledge you need you can improve things for your practice, your team and your patients.
Our sessions address the genuine questions we’re asked most frequently such as: how to improve your practice’s profitability? The session we have with Andy Acton of Frank Taylor and Associates, Mike Blenkharn of UNW and Wesleyan Financial Services’ Magdelena Harding takes care of that.
What’s the future of regulation and how to deal with complaints and litigation? Theresa Thorp of the GDC, Len D’Cruz of BDA indemnity, veteran independent dental adviser, Stephen Henderson and President of the BDIA, Simon Thackeray will help you navigate them.
What about how tech will influence the way you run your practice? Our session with tech experts Adam Smith, Kish Patel, Jin Vaghela, and dental business coaches Michael Bentley (on Friday) and Chris Barrow (Saturday) will equip you with all the knowledge you need.
If you’re still a bit hazy about what all the recent changes to employment law mean for you and your team, then attending HR and Employment law solicitor and Director of Buxton Coates Solicitors, Sarah Buxton’s discussion with team performance specialist, Mark Topley, is a must.
Wondering about the new NHS dental contracts in England and Wales and what the future might hold? BDA heavyweights, Eddie Crouch, Lauren Harrhy and Shiv Pabary will share their thoughts and discuss what might lie ahead with our Director, Nigel Jones.
There’s never been a safer time to make the move to private dentistry
Of course, as the experts in helping practices introduce private dentistry, it would be wrong if we didn’t offer up some of our expertise on how to go about this. Dentist and practice owner, Manish Chitnis, took advantage of our three decades of experience to help him convert his practice from NHS to private dentistry. You can hear the story of his NHS to private conversion during an informative conversation with Practice Plan Head of Sales, Zoe Close, Regional Support Manager, Louise Anderson, and Area Manager, Katrina James, while they show you why there’s never been a safer time to leave NHS dentistry.
Whether you’re looking for answers, guidance or you’re just plain curious, we’re sure you’ll find a visit to the Dental Business Theatre worthwhile. What’s more, our speakers are generally available for a quick chat after their slot which is an opportunity not to be missed.
Have we piqued your interest? If so, you’ll be very welcome to come and find out more at the Dental Business Theatre on both Friday 15th and Saturday 16th May. Sessions start at 10am.
Don’t forget: if you’d like the opportunity for an informal chat with one of our Regional Support Managers about introducing a membership plan or switching from another provider maintenance or full care plans, you’ll find them at Stand G50. As well as great advice, you’ll receive a warm welcome and a glass of something chilled.
See you there!
