Who are Practice Plan?
Practice Plan is the UK’s leading provider of practice-branded dental membership plans. As a company we offer a range of services to support dental practices in building and maintaining successful membership plans, ensuring both patients and practices benefit from prevention-focused dental care.
What is the benefit of having a dental membership plan?
There are a number of benefits of having a dental membership plan. Implementing a membership plan can increase patient loyalty, provide a regular monthly income, and reduce the risk of missed appointments. By offering patients a structured plan, practices can operate more efficiently and build stronger patient relationships.
Practices also report that patients on a membership plan are more likely to attend their appointments compared to pay-as-you-go patients. This means fewer missed appointments and, as a result, better oral health outcomes.
Do you only offer maintenance plans, or can I set up full care plans for my patients?
We offer both! If you’re starting a plan from scratch, you can create full care plans completely tailored to your practice, meaning you choose your pricing, treatment inclusions, and terms so the plan reflects your approach to patient care. If you’re moving patients from an existing provider, we’ll handle the bulk transfer for you.
Your patients will come across on a like-for-like basis, meaning their current plan type (whether capitation, full care, maintenance, or essentials) will be mirrored under our system. This ensures continuity for your patients and minimal disruption for your practice. In short, you have complete control: build bespoke plans from the ground up or replicate existing ones seamlessly.
What support does Practice Plan offer to dental practices?
We provide comprehensive support, including access to experienced Regional Support Managers, reliable customer service, an online patient management portal, in-house design and marketing assistance, specialist financial advice, as well as an extensive range of events and webinars.
In addition, we offer a number of online resources such as blogs and podcasts on a variety of topics such as business management, wellbeing, the dental landscape and much more.
Why should I choose Practice Plan as a partner when making a partial or full conversion away from the NHS?
Practice Plan has been welcoming practices into the family since 1995, helping them to grow profitable businesses through the introduction of practice-branded membership plans. That’s why we feel justified in describing ourselves as experts in helping practices convert, fully or partially, from NHS to private dentistry.
Our field team has over 300 years’ dental experience and will help you assess your current situation and consider your options, providing you with all the information you need to make a better-informed decision and evaluate your options outside the NHS.
As well as having a family feel, we’re a provider that knows a thing or two about dentistry. Over our three decades we’ve been there and done that. So, if you’d like an expert partner to hold your hand throughout the process and beyond, then Be Practice Plan and get in touch.
What is the NHS to private dentistry conversion process?
For a practice owner, deciding whether to move away from NHS to private dentistry could be the biggest business decision they ever make, so it can feel quite scary. However, we support our practices every step of the way. We’ve been helping dentists make that move for three decades now which means we feel justified in describing ourselves as experts, so you’re in safe hands.
The process begins with a conversation about why you feel you want to leave the NHS. At this point we can start to establish whether the move is right for you and your business. If we don’t think it’s the right time for you, we’ll tell you so. If it looks like the move will work, we’ll get under the skin of your business to understand your finances and crunch the numbers. That way we can assess how many patients you need to keep (and lose) and help design your plan.
You call the shots so we will take our lead from you when it comes to timing. If the time doesn’t feel right, then we won’t pressure you to go ahead. However, when you are ready, we make a complicated process look simple. We’ll help you with all the paperwork as well as mailing all your patients to let them know about the change. We’ll also be in practice (usually with biscuits!) to train your team and as a comforting presence when you’re signing up patients onto plan. As we said, we’re really with you every step of the way.
When the dust has settled and you’re enjoying the more relaxed pace of private dentistry, we’ll still be there to help grow your business and help you to thrive. You can rely on us.
How would I benefit from switching to Practice Plan?
By switching your patient plan to us we could save you money. Most importantly, we could help you to grow your business with the breadth and depth of business and marketing support, planned events and training we provide.
As well as being able to access support from your dedicated Regional Support Manager (RSM), you’ll also have a head office-based Relationship Support Advisor (RSA) who can help with any queries you have. This means help is only ever a phone call away.
Is your brand in need of a refresh? Then you can tap into our in-house team of designers who will help to achieve the look and feel you want to project. We can also help with leaflets, posters and TV slides to use in practice.
As a Practice Plan customer, you’ll have access to some of the industry’s leading dental business consultants. After all, your success is our success, and we’re committed to helping your practice thrive. You’ll also be able to attend a wide range of events, including The Workshop Tour, exclusive webinars, regional events, and more.
Will I get marketing support?
As a Practice Plan customer, you’ll be able to tap into our dedicated Design and Practice Marketing Team to help your practice stand out from the crowd and grow your patient base.
Whether you need leaflets, posters and flyers, a newsletter or a complete brand refresh, our friendly and helpful team is on standby to help. As it’s your plan, not ours, everything will be bespoke for your practice to meet your individual needs.
Why is it important to have a membership plan that’s branded to your practice?
Having the plan branded to your practice makes you the star of the show, not the membership provider. Your patients are loyal to you, so they are signing up to your plan—not a third-party provider. A practice-branded plan strengthens the sense that your patients are becoming members of your practice, which helps to boost their loyalty. Additionally, the plan provides your practice with a regular monthly income through direct debits, ensuring a steady cash flow—even when you’re not in the practice.
What type of events does Practice Plan offer?
Practice Plan hosts a variety of events, including face-to-face workshops, webinars, exclusive Practice Plan live webinars and on-demand sessions. These events cover topics such as dental business management, team culture, creativity, mental health first aid, and more. Delivered by leading figures in dentistry, they aim to develop skills and strategies to drive a practice forward. They are practical, packed full of useful advice and are always aimed to be delivered at a location near you.
