We’re excited to welcome Emma McDaid to the Practice Plan family as our new Area Manager, overseeing the Southeast, East of England and the Midlands. Discover her career journey, passion for dentistry, and what inspires her in this new role.
Emma brings a wealth of experience and a passion for supporting practice teams to deliver exceptional results. In her own words:
“I see my role as a supportive function to my practice teams, closely aligned with their business strategies. My focus is on helping the team achieve great outcomes and creating a positive experience for both colleagues and clients. I want to be someone you can come to for support, guidance, or simply a catch-up and a chat.”
Emma was drawn to our strong reputation and, more importantly, our culture. She shares:
“I’ve always looked for a positive environment that nurtures its people and truly believes in them. From the very first conversation, I felt that genuine sense of collaboration. It was clear this was a place where I could grow, contribute, and be part of something meaningful.”
Emma’s career journey
Emma’s career in dentistry spans many roles, giving her a deep understanding of the industry. She started as a Dental Nurse and progressed through positions such as:
- Receptionist
- Treatment Coordinator
- TCO Trainer and Inductor for the UK
- Practice Manager
- Private & Specialist Manager for the South of England and Wales.
Her previous role involved managing relationships and working cross-functionally with operations, commercial, and finance teams to grow membership plans across an estate of over 220 practices. This experience has equipped her with the skills and insights she’s excited to bring to her new position. Emma says:
“I was ready for a new challenge and having worked with many of you over the years, this felt like the most natural next step. I’m excited to learn new skills, collaborate on impactful projects, and contribute to Practice Plan’s continued growth.”
Outside of work, Emma is passionate about the arts, from live music to museums. Her playlist is eclectic, think Disney, classical, soul, and funk all in one car journey! She’s fluent in British Sign Language and advocates for D/deaf rights, removing barriers so everyone has equal opportunities. Fun fact: Emma has a background in performing arts, including dance shows and pantomime.
Her dream skills? Playing the piano and speaking fluent Spanish, perhaps one day on a Spanish island with a baby grand piano!
Welcome, Emma!
We’re delighted to have Emma on board and can’t wait to see the impact she’ll make to our amazing practices.
