NHS Wales Dental Contract Changes Explained – we’re coming to Cardiff and Llanelli!

Calling all NHS dentists in Wales

The proposed Reform of NHS general dental services heralds major changes to the way NHS dentistry is delivered. New performance measures, a sharper focus on prevention and access, and a move away from the traditional UDA model will change how your practice operates.

The consultation closed in mid-June, and the document itself was criticised widely for being opaque and difficult to understand leaving many people unsure as to the exact implications of the changes. As we await the results of the consultation, which are expected soon, many have told us they’re none the wiser about what the changes will mean for them. That’s why we’re staging a series of in person events to try and bring some clarity to the situation.  NHS Wales Contract Changes, what you need to know aims help explain what the changes may mean for NHS dentists practicing in Wales.

Are you someone who’s wondering how the DAP (digital access portal) will change the way you interact with your current base of patients? Are you concerned about how it could affect the way you manage your appointment diary? Worried that if the proposals are enacted, will anyone still have such a thing as an NHS patient base, anyway? And what about the possible implications for the goodwill value of your practice?

If any of these questions resonate with you, then our events are just the ticket. As the American computer scientist, Claude Shannon said: “Information is the resolution of uncertainty,” which is why we’ve gathered together a panel of experts who, amongst them, have nearly a century of experience in dentistry.

Practice Plan Head of Sales, Zoe Close, Area Manager, Katrina James and Regional Support Manager, Louise Anderson (both proud Welsh women), will be joined by practice owner and BDA Committee member, Lauren Harrhy, to offer honest insights into how the proposed changes will affect the day-to-day running of your practice. They’ll also be able to answer your questions and give suggestions and guidance as to what your next move might be.

The events are free to attend and are being held in Cardiff on Tuesday 9th September and Llanelli on Thursday 18th September. There’ll also be an opportunity to network with other practice owners overs some drinks and nibbles.

If you’re looking for some clarity, why not join us to hear from the experts and leave feeling informed and ready for what’s ahead. Book your place
