Well it’s been a long time (and a lot of planning) getting here, but the BDTA Dental Showcase is now in full swing and what a show it is!
It’s been quite a bold step for Practice Plan this year as we have ‘doubled the fun’, bringing both the on-stand mini lecture theatre from 2012 and the Practice Plan Cocktail Bar of previous years, together on one stand. And I am very happy to say, with a big sigh of relief, that it’s all gone to plan!
As an events organiser, it’s a wonderful feeling to go from seeing the sketches made in a meeting on a rainy May afternoon, to seeing a big glossy exhibition stand in front of you that is serving the objectives you set out to achieve.
I have included some of the sketches that we started out with, which shows not only how awfully vague our sketches are, but also how great our stand designers and internal graphic designers are… how they pull it all together is nothing short of brilliant!
And so here I am at the BDTA Dental Showcase. The show kicked off yesterday, opening its doors to a mass of eager dental professionals, all keen to discover what’s new in dentistry and get their hands on the latest innovations and gadgets whilst racking up some much needed CPD in the process.
In addition to the wealth of information we provide at the show on our membership plans (and Patient Finance with Medenta), we also wanted to show delegates how much we support practices with the business side of dentistry. With many business consultants and members of the Practice Plan team available to give our members copious amounts of business advice, we thought we’d give show attendees a taster by organising four of our FANTASTIC business speakers (Sheila Scott, Les Jones, Richard Collard and Nigel Jones) to host 30 minute lectures on-stand, which are free to attend and provide verifiable CPD for delegates in attendance.
We’ve had great feedback so far; here’s what some people had to say about yesterday’s lectures…
“Super overview of how to attract and keep patients”
John Bates: Dentist: Station House Dental Practice
“Excellent presentation; very useful tips that I will take back and implement in the practice”
Carolyn Collinson: Practice Manager: Queen’s Road Dental Care
“I can never stop learning from the amazing Sheila Scott; I always come away feeling inspired”
Smita Mistry: Business Manager and Hygienist: Facial Aesthetics Academy
“Funny and informative”
