Eddie Crouch, Ian Redfearn, Paul Worskett and George Savva discuss the future of NHS dentistry. With the rollout of the reformed NHS England contract now less than a year away, we hosted a panel discussion to find out what they think it will mean for the profession.

About Eddie:

Eddie works in two practices in Birmingham. He is Vice Chair of the Birmingham Local Dental Committee, Vice Chair of the British Dental Association Principal Executive Committee and past Chair of Central Counties Branch of the British Dental Association.

About Paul:

Paul has been the principal of Amblecote Dental Care in the West Midlands since 1988. Paul has extensive experience of dentistry and has a special interest in cosmetic and implant dental care. He has had two papers published in the BDJ and Dental Update. Amblecote Dental Care is a prototype blend B practice as part of the ongoing NHS contract reform process, having initially been a pilot practice since 2011.

About Ian:

Ian is the owner of Dentistry For All, a prototype A practice in Nelson. He qualified from Newcastle in 1990, holds an MSc in Restorative and Aesthetic Dentistry and has been an Educational Supervisor for newly qualified dentists.

About George:

George is the co-owner of Alexandra Dental Care, a mixed practice. He holds an MSc in Clinical Dentistry and is an approved mentor for Implant Dentistry, as well as being a vocational trainer for Sheffield University since 1999.
