About the speakers:

Katrina James, Area Manager, Practice Plan

Katrina is an Area Manager who joined the dental sector in 2018 after 25 years’ working in sales and people management roles. Practice Plan is the UK’s leading provider of practice-branded patient membership plans, partnering with over 2,000 dental practices and offering a wide range of business support services.

Lucie Simic, Dental Business Consultant, Lucie Simic Healthcare Consultancy

Lucie is a Dental Business Consultant, Communication Trainer, and Practice Manager Coach with over a decade of experience. After beginning her career in journalism, she transitioned into dentistry, working as a dental practice manager for several years before setting up her own business helping dental practice owners and their teams.

Her mission is to foster sustainable and fulfilling practices that not only attract top talent but also resonate with patients by delivering exceptional customer service.  Lucie’s expertise extends across the UK, where she collaborates with dental practices, empowering them to achieve new levels of success. Additionally, she partners with industry leader Ashley Latter to deliver his Practice Manager and Reception Training courses, driving excellence in every aspect of dental practice management.

Jennifer Berndt, Principal Dentist, Crescent Dental Ltd

Jennifer worked as an NHS associate at Crescent Dental from 2017 and bought the practice in February 2022.

The practice had a large NHS contract, which became unmanageable due to rising operating costs, recruitment difficulties and high treatment needs post-pandemic. The decision to transition to private care has allowed them to invest in better equipment, providing a better service to patients as well as becoming more attractive in recruitment.

Kholosa Vundisa, Practice Manager, Brundall Dental Centre

Kholosa qualified as a Dental Nurse in 2021, she was then promoted to head nurse, before settling into her role as Practice Manager in 2022 at Brundall Dental Care. Kholosa’s aim as Practice Manager is to be the glue that binds the team, by showing impartial support to all team members in order foster a healthy work environment where everyone is happy and productive.

Their recent conversion from NHS to Private dentistry has not only helped the business thrive but has also opened doors for further training for all team members to become exceptional at what they do.
